Dear Everyone,
Thank you in advance for reading this. I hope that it is helpful, and perhaps enlightening and comforting for many of you who have faced something similar. This morning I felt like I was punched in the gut.
A client of mine, who has the sweetest name, and has always sent the sweetest notes about how Dr. Peebles’ teachings have helped her navigate these tumultuous and sometimes scary times on earth, sent me an email. Her email receipt from the May 26 Dr. Peebles Speaks Session was attached. She wrote only one word: satanist.
My heart sank, as my mind ran through a million scenarios. This couldn’t possibly have been meant for me. It’s a joke. It’s a misspelling of some other, kinder, word. She hit the send button before she finished writing her dissertation about how Dr. Peebles’ love could melt the heart of any satanist. But, I knew, with dread, that this wasn’t an accident, and that she meant it.
I wrote back: “I’m sorry, what?” praying to God that she would write back to tell me it was an accident or a joke. Instead, she immediately replied (this time with a capital “S”), “Satanist.”
I wrote again, as my heart sank into sadness. “Would you mind explaining why you think that? I’m confused. You’ve always sent such sweet notes about how helpful the teachings are. I’m not sure what is satanic about love. If you don’t want to answer, it’s okay. I’m sorry you feel this way.”
Her replies stopped.
My very human self began to feel triggered by memories of being burned at the stake, hanged from the rafters, crushed by stones. I felt scared, lonely, frustrated, angry that I was being treated this way, and I wanted to quit channeling right there and then. And then, I thought, “Isn’t that exactly what Satan would want?”
I prayed to God, Jesus, Dr. Peebles, Archangel Michael, and all of my guides and angels, and said, “Please heal this.” My expectation was that they would somehow impress upon the woman who wrote to me, that this is not satanic work, but it’s all about love.
I immediately felt a flow of warmth and love fill me, and I saw Jesus grinning, shaking his head to show me that’s not how it works, and he said gently, “It can only be healed within you.” I knew the truth of this, and searched my heart for forgiveness and love for her. I then began to realize that whatever she thought about me or my work with Dr. Peebles was her perspective, and that was okay, although I began to feel sad that she was so filled with fear and hatred. I reflected upon the life of Jesus, and felt awe when I realized the grace with which he walked the earth amidst so many adversaries. Clearly, what happened to me this morning paled by comparison.
I picked up the transcription from the May 26 Dr. Peebles Speaks session and read through it, looking for anything that could possibly be misconstrued as satanic. Every word he shared was all about love. He taught about the contrasts on earth, and shared with us ways to stay strong and in touch with the God light within us as the world moves forward into some very challenging times. He spoke about Artificial Intelligence, and although some of it sounded foreboding, he gave us the insight to work in a loving way as we move forward into this new era of technology.
And then I saw it. I read the part that, someone who is uneducated in the simple philosophy of the energetics of the universe, would easily misconstrue as an endorsement of evil. I surmised that this was the trigger for my client. Dr. Peebles spoke of black as being the density of light—the birth place of light—the dark and fertile soil wherein we plant ourselves and grow. To me, this was clearly metaphorical for the difficult and dark times ahead of us, although he didn’t come right out and say, “This is a metaphor!” We can plant ourselves in that dark and fertile soil, and learn and grow into the greater light of understanding, by not succumbing to fear, by standing in our truth, adhering to God and the greater truths, and so much more. Let me share it with you in his own words:
You look out into the universe, and you see a black sky and you see space, and you see it dotted with stars and galaxies and planets and other things, asteroids shooting through the blackness, the space that is there. There is really truly more space than there is stuff that you can see with the human eye. You look at that black and it is out of that black that color is born. Black is not the absence of light, it is the density of light, it is the birthplace of light, it is from that in which color comes forth and into existence. Just like a flower or a tree is planted in the soil as a seed and it begins to grow in the darkness, in the black, that’s where it begins, watered, sometimes with tears, watered with the love of God, the grace and the goodness that is there in the universe, the nurturing, the water, the flow of life.
So that little seed grows up, pushes its way through the soil past the rocks and the stones and everything else and comes up and starts to point its little face to the sunlight. And then you discover you really cannot have the flower or the tree without the roots.
(To understand black as the density of light, all I have to do is remember taking every paint color on my watercolor palette as a kid, and mixing it all together until it frustratingly turned black and ruined my picture.)
As if those words weren’t scary enough, Dr. Peebles then commenced to share a meditation in which you cup your hands over the orbit of the eyes and visualize black until it becomes peaceful, fertile soil in which you plant your roots. And, there is something deeply soothing about that meditation. In fact, as far as I know, it originated with a man named Meir Schneider who healed himself of blindness by doing this exercise, and subsequently shared it through his books and self healing center to help others see clearly. The exercise would calm and soothe his eyes, and after many hours of doing this (and more), he could at last see again. In my opinion, that’s exactly what Dr. Peebles was doing…taking us into the scary place, the darkness, to find that love lives there, too. It cannot be extinguished. In essence, he was teaching us how to plant ourselves in that dark and fertile soil, and grow into the greater understanding of love, and to ultimately see life more clearly, and not be so afraid. In other words to, let there be light!
As a former born-again Christian who was certain that Satan was lurking everywhere, even in my lunch meat, and was terrified of the dark so much so that I could not sleep without a night light on (even as an adult), I can absolutely understand how this kind of teaching could potentially terrify someone who does not understand the energetics of life. However, the reality is, we need the contrasts in order to learn and grow.
For those who might need a Bible reference to clear this up, just read Genesis 1:1 through 1:5, in which darkness precedes light, and God separates the light from the darkness:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
Note that although God called the light “good,” he did not call the dark, “evil.”
Dr. Peebles is a teacher about the illusions of separation. In some respects he is not only a spiritual teacher, but a philosopher, giving us examples and metaphors to help us understand some of the more complex perspectives and truths about life. This, for example:
It’s fantastic, you see, how many ways you can create your own reality through your choices and perceptions. It’s all energy, every single bit of what you are doing. You can’t wag your finger in the air without it changing the course of existence. You can’t separate yourself from anything or anyone. You’re all part of the same soup, shall we say, and the air in between you is not empty space, it’s filled with light, love, inspiration, truth, activity, wonder, it has all sorts of things going on within it and you are energetically connected, absolutely one hundred percent with every single solitary person upon this school called planet earth, even those people that ya don’t like. You can’t separate yourself. You’re in this dance together. You’re creating this dance together. You’re creating this existence together. You are a collective consciousness upon this school called planet earth, and then some.
Dr. Peebles is not a proponent of anything other than love, because love is the source of all of life. We can deny love, but we can’t ever escape it.
Since being nearly cold-cocked by that sucker punch of an email, without even the courtesy of an explanation, I have been emboldened to write this letter and speak my truth, and let it jostle whom it may, and help or at the very least entertain others. I am writing this because my very wise friend, Liz, admonished me to not let the voice of one person diminish the thousands of gracious and loving words I’ve received from so many around the world, nor to let it devalue the mountains of love and respect that have been showered upon me for doing this work for nearly 30 years.
I have only been under this kind of attack three times in my life. Once, by a client turned born-again Christian. Another by someone very close to me who said my work is a cult (and he has never even listened to any of Dr. Peebles’ teachings.) Well, I’m not a cult, and I’m not a satanist. In fact, I’m not trying to get anyone to believe anything. I’m not out to create a following. I’m just sharing of myself, and I allow Dr. Peebles to share his words through me, because I love his teachings. Reminding myself of the fact that I know who I am, and God knows who I am, is the only way that I can find peace and comfort in times like these.
I am deeply saddened to think that my work would in any way frighten anyone. But, I do understand that what I do as my life’s work is not easy for many people to comprehend. People are so conditioned to fear and lash out at life, rather than to engage in enlightening banter and share their perspectives. I believe every one of us has felt we’ve been burned at the stake (metaphorically speaking) at one time or another for our beliefs or perspectives. I pray sincerely that one day we will all develop more loving allowance for each other, increase communication with respect, and accept self responsibility for our lives as creative adventures, knowing that it is through our choices and perceptions that we create our own reality.
I know that many of you are healers, spiritual teachers, angel communicators, psychics, astrologers, tarot card readers, oracle card writers, mystics, and mediums, and have felt the scrutiny of society for your own modality, perspective, and cherished way of helping people awaken to love. My heart goes out to you for your courage, and I pray that you find the strength within you to continue to spread love, and not be derailed by the negative daggers thrown your way. It’s time for this to stop. It’s time for us to stop being treated like pariahs, but I know that’s probably never going to happen. We are just growing, learning, students on the school called planet earth, doing our best to spread the love. All we can do is to heal the hurts within by finding solace and comfort in truly knowing who we are, and what our true intent is in life, and keep moving forward in our demonstration of love.
I wish my sweet client, turned critic, would have shared with me what happened, what frightened her so much that she had to lash out. I would like to learn from that. Yes, I can heal this within me, and go on with my life, but I know myself well enough to know that I will be forever pained that she is carrying this fear and hatred with her because of something Dr. Peebles said only with the intention of guiding us deeper into our hearts, into love eternal.
Life is a dance. We need the contrasts to grow and understand. We can’t know the front without knowing there’s a back. We can’t know up without down. We can’t know the white light of the stars and God’s love without the density of the blackness around it. We can’t know the Day without the Night. It is within this diversity of life that we realize what unifies us all is Love. God’s love is real and constant.
I have been feeling lately that somehow Spirit was getting ready to push me out of the nest again, into another phase of my journey as a spiritual teacher. I believe that the one-word email was the kick I needed. It has emboldened me to speak my truth today, to stand up for myself (while remaining in love), and not be derailed from doing what I know are good works for the world. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge by doing this work for nearly half of my life, and I will strive to share more of my own spiritual knowledge about the energetics of life, and perhaps help to clarify some of the more difficult teachings of Dr. Peebles, to make them easier to understand.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I appreciate all of you so much, and I thank you for the countless letters of love, support and encouragement that I have received over the years. I am overjoyed that for so many thousands of you, the words of Dr. Peebles (and sometimes even those of myself) have brought you encouragement, courage, and empowerment to navigate what a very wise client of mine calls, “the corn maze of self discovery.” I truly hope that if you are ever frightened or concerned or confused by Dr. Peebles’ teachings, that you would let me know so that we can discuss it together, and hopefully come to a deeper understanding about ourselves.
May God Bless you, and may peace, love and harmony be with you all the days of your life.
Love,
Summer
