Coffee and God

Jul 23, 2026

Be the casual seeker of the divinity within.

Find those moments in your day where you can.

Yes, yes, you have time – to talk to God, to talk to Spirit.

It doesn’t require the chanting of Oms for hours,

even though that is a lovely thing to do.

It doesn’t require meditation for hours,

though that’s a lovely thing to do.

It doesn’t require going to classes,

although that’s a lovely thing to do,

and to share the experience with others.

It’s wonderful.

But, my dear friends, when you’re standing in the kitchen

waiting for that cup of coffee to finally drip down into your cup,

and you’re drumming your fingers anxiously awaiting it.

That’s a beautiful time, my dear friends, for you to just close your eyes,

say a little prayer,

“Thank you, God, for this beautiful day

and for all the pleasures, treasures, and wonders within it.

And thank you for that beautiful coffee that is dripping into my cup.

May every drop be blessed by Your love.”

That’s a simple way, a casual way to engage with God,

and engage with your heart.
