FROM SUMMER:
Relax, release, surrender. This newsletter is long, intentionally. In this fast-paced, social media driven society, I have chosen to run against the grain, and to implore you to slow down and savor what is written here.
I’ve received such a positive response from sharing about Dr. Peebles who walked the earth, and how he is sharing through me now in the afterlife, that I thought I’d share more about him in this newsletter. Lately I’ve been focused so much on the all encompassing love for humanity that I truly believe is what God wants for us. The “New Age” movement began as a way to move away from structured religion, and hence a movement away from any belief in Jesus, so as to disassociate with the church. However, that doesn’t mean that Jesus wasn’t an extraordinary man who walked the earth. In light of interactions that I’ve had in the last week, I would like to share Dr. Peebles’ perspectives on Jesus, as he wrote of Him then, and as he has spoken of Him through me.
Jesus: Man, Medium, Martyr
A perspective: then (1899) and now (2008)
By Dr. James Martin Peebles
This is the preface that Dr. Peebles wrote in his book, Jesus: Man, Medium, Martyr (pub: 1899). Mind you, it’s written in the language of the day. Stick with it. It’s worth reading:
Conscious, I think—I reflect—I lecture upon all reform subjects—writing, I smite the wrong wherever found, and traveling the wide world around and around, I speak the inspired word in India, Ceylon, and other Oriental climes. I also gather the good and the true from Brahmin and Buddhist, Jew and Christian, and booking them, pray that the contents, so far as just and reasonable, may be appropriated by generous souls, to be thereafter the more widely disseminated for the bettering and upbuilding of our common humanity now—and the more, when I have passed from the transient illusions of earth to the invisible realities and ampler facilities of the awaiting eternities. Wearied at times, and worn with earthly pilgramages, my soul’s trustful rest is upon the essential tendencies, the divine realities, the infinite calm of divine Love, Will and Wisdom—God over all, and in all forevermore! J.M.P
Here is some of what Dr. Peebles wrote in his book in 1899:
No, Jesus was not the founder of our-time Christianity, but simply the central figure around which the first three gospel records clustered; and to get rid of Christianity with its theological lumber and its persecuting tendencies, a few radical iconoclasts vainly think that they must annihilate Jesus—the Jesus of the Talmud, of the New Testament and of the last eighteen centuries.

Beliefs are the results of evidence.

The longer I live and the more I see
Of the struggle of souls towards the heights above,
The stronger this truth comes home to me,
That the universe rests on the shoulders of love,–
A love so limiteless, deep and broad
That men have renamed it, and called it God.
Here is some of what Dr. Peebles wrote in his book in 2008:
Jesus Christ did not walk the earth to say that He was better than, more special than, nor did He walk the earth to say that He was the Son of God, though he knew it inside of His heart. He also knew that you, too, are children born from the heart of God, but simply, my dear friends, you have fallen into the misunderstanding that you are less than worthy of God’s love in your life.
***
He was the consciousness of God a hundred percent, fully expressed upon the earth. An extraordinary man who walked the earth, but no different than what exists inside of you. You, my dear friends, you are that too, but you have forgotten.
***
God’s love is giving. God’s love is wise. God’s love is pure. God’s love is forever. It is unwavering, is not if you will, hinging upon your faithfulness, nor does it hinge upon your beliefs; not upon the church, nor upon doctrine, nor upon dogma. It doesn’t, if you will, reside in the heart of the Pope either. It is there for all. Not “for the taking,” but there. There it is, right now inside of you. There it is until through your own free will you choose to awaken it through every word that passes your lips, every movement that you make, every thought that you don’t express. Within everything, my dear friends, God exists. Within everything there is an opportunity to allow for God’s love to be expressed no matter what and without fear. Well, let’s put it like this, my dear friends, that beautiful man who walked the earth, He was put to death. He was put to death because He loved so much, He was put to death. His crime? Compassion. A man who walked the earth who chose not to fight, to turn the other cheek, to see the perfection and the divinity inside of all. A man who loved Judas. A man who loved all.
The fact that He had no fear set Him apart.
